Are Residential units numbers are separate than Addresses or part of the address? It seems a little confusing as adding a unit to an address makes it a unique address so why is it mentioned separately on the post.

Residential Units numbers are separate from addresses. Each residential unit is associated with and address. The residential units are stored in a separate table from the addresses.

Most addresses in DC do not have any residential units associated with them (detached single family houses, office buildings, single unit rowhouses).
