MAR Web Services

The MAR includes web services which are a part of a large range of geographic web services offered by DC GIS.

For example by using the findDCInterThrouString operation one can find and have returned the intersection of 'ALABAMA AVENUE SE AND 36TH STREET SE'.    This operation " Accepts one concatenated DC intersection string containing two street names separated by ' And ', ' & ', ' @ ', 'BELOW', 'ABOVE', 'UNDER', 'OVER'. "    XML information is returnedd.

There are almost twenty operations that use the MAR.    These MAR Web Services are very useful for application developers using address, block, intersection or place name related data related in Washington, DC.

Residential Units That No Longer Exist Will become 'RETIRE'

Residential Units which no longer exist (demolished or converted to another unit number) will be maintained in the Residential Unit Table.   There status will be 'RETIRE.'     As of this posting there are 778 residential units whose status is 'RETIRE'.  [In the past the policy was to delete these records from the Residential Unit Table].

P.S.   Residential Units that currently exist will have their status as 'ACTIVE'.

MAR News:

• Alias names for the DC Public School Names were updated.
• Alias names for Marinas were updated
• Reviewed USPS County Project data for inclusion in the MAR.
• The number of Residential Units hit the 200,000 mark.
• Working on adding additional dorm rooms as Residential Units.
